Today we woke up at the campsite. We started an attempt to our first 14er. We started at 6:30. We hiked up the side of Mt. Elbert ( The tallest mountain in Colorado.) We kept on taking the breaks. Ellie was crabby. It was very steep and hard. It worked out all the parts body. There was a lot of times where we almost turned around. We had a couple of snacks. We finally got above tree line. We met another family who was also doing the same hike. At the end there was some scrambling. We only had 660 more feet 600 of them up. Ellie could not do it any more. I had a meltdown. I really wanted to finish it. We had to go back. I fell down a countless number of times. We finally made it back. We drove a long way. We are almost home. I mean to the hotel. It was a great day.
