Little Hikes

Today we are doing a lot of little hikes.

Yucca House National Monument

Our first stop was Yucca House National Monument. It is located on the property of a rancher. We had to go through No Trespassing Signs, and Do Not Enter. The whole time I am clinging onto my stuffed cow.

We saw the rancher. He did not seem to notice us. We got out of the car and saw ruins of an old Pueblo.

Sand Canyon Pueblo

Our next stop was Sand Canyon Pueblo. It was fun to imagine being inside of the town. We did a little hike, it was .5 miles. There was a lot of informative signs. We made up the rattlesnake scare song:

(ROLL THE R)

RATTLE ZNAKE
RATTLE ZNAKE
PUT YOUR VENOM AWAY

RATTLE ZNAKE
RATTLE ZNAKE
PLEASE BE NICE TODAY
That is the Rattle Snake Song.

We then drove a while to Hovenweep National Monument. We did a hike and saw a lot of ruins. They were SO COOL. It is very interesting to Learn about the history.

Ellie and I then became Junior Rangers for the eighth time. Then, we sat in the car and ate cheese, crackers, meat, and chips for dinner. THEN WE SET UP CAMP! We are camping.
