Today we did the same hike that we did last year at Arches. Only last year we did a shorter amount of the trail because we were in a flash flood. This year was the exact opposite, it was 111 degrees and the sun was so high in the sky there was no shade at all.
This morning I woke up at 5:30, then we hopped in the car to grab a muffin from Love Muffin. We quickly drove to Arches and started the 7.5 mile hike that turned into a 9.5 mile hike. We took many little spurs that led to different arches and views. The hike was strenuous, 9.5 miles, 5.5 hours, and 1200 feet of elevation change. We saw a rabbit and named it Ruby. Ruby was fine with us staring at her for 5 minutes. She was like “What are these people doing would it be kind of awkward if I stared a you would it not?
The main hike was beautiful. Any direction you looked there was a different but beautiful view.(At first I wrote rock instead of view, I guess I saw to many rocks.) We saw Dark Angel Rock plus many more with out names. That makes since because who would name a rock? The arches were amazing. My favorite was Landscape Arch. The history was so cool, how part of the rock fell off.
It was a good time when it ended because I was out of water, hungry, dizzy, and over all miserable.
We are now doing our night routine.
