Today we were at Arches National Park. We did a tour guided hike. It was amazing! We scrambled, balanced, and jumped. Another thing we got to do is crawl through a little arch. We were mostly in shade. Our Ranger was nice he helped me find a yucca plant for my junior ranger booklet. The hike was 2 miles in 3 hours and 250 feet up. After the hike we did some touristy stuff. We saw some arches and the wolfe cottage. After that we headed to the visitors center. Ellie and I became Junior rangers with the same ranger who took us on the tour. We got a quarter that has arches on it, a pin,
and a coloring sheet. We drove around Moab for a little while looking for a spot for dinner.
DID YOU KNOW?
It is named Fiery Furnace not because of the heat, but because at sunset the red rocks look like Fire Flames.
The three standards to become an arch are
1. You can see through it
2. It has to be made of solid rock
3. It has to be at least 3 feet in any direction.
