Yesterday we had a pretty relaxing morning and headed to Dolores and walked around a little bit. We stopped at the DinoStore and we all got a shirt. I got a oversized flannel and one issue with this trip is buying clothes because my bag is actually exploding with a surplus of unnecessary clothes. It doesn’t quite zip all the way anymore but I can fit a few more new things in.
We headed to the property and met up with ranger Mike and spent the afternoon exploring the property. We saw bones, skulls, and lizards. Then we spent the afternoon playing Sevens on the porch. We went to the brewery for dinner and played lots of bananagrams.
When we got back my mom asked if I wanted to go on the upper porch by climbing the ladder. I jumped for that opportunity and was the first one up in 10 seconds. Everyone else crawled up the ladder with a little bit too much fear. We all watched the sunset and decided to go down the ladder before it got dark. I had zero fear going into it but that was not the same for everyone else. My mom went down first because she was the second least scared and held the ladder at the bottom. I was using all my muscle in my arms to hold the ladder up at the top before everyone else. I saw all of their life’s flash before their eyes. When it finally got to my turn there was 4 people holding the ladder and I was down in no time. If you come to visit we should hopefully know how to open the doors by then.
Then was the talent show. Thanks to the Otts for starting this tradition. Whenever we have a guest over there is a mandatory talent show. Ellie and I have a pretty amazing recreation the The Routine from friends but I think we were beat this time my ranger Mike’s Italian opera performance.
We spent the night stargazing which was so fun. I’ve always been obsessed with space and we saw the milky way and millions of stars!
this morning we went to ABC for breakfast and then went in a few short hikes at Mesa Verde. We started off oj Knifes edge trail and then went to a fire lookout. I do t know what the rest of the night has in for us but tonight is me and my mom’s turn to make dinner. We are making Buffalo Chicken Salads and strawberry shortcake.
It’s hard to manage an exploding bag of clothes when you don’t have a regular reliable floor for storing organized mid clean/dirty overage.
Yes!! I actually have to decide what is clean and dirty now. And there is unreliable laundry so idk if I have to make a sweatshirt last 2 days or a week.
