Day 1

It is officially summer and this year we will be taking our longest road trip to date! I am currently sitting in a Kimpton hotel in Omaha, Nabraska and to understand exactly how we got here we have to go back to 7 AM this morning when for the last time this year Hey there Delilah started playing to wake me up one last time for school. I got out of bed and started to get ready for my last day of 7th grade! I straightened my hair, did my makeup, and had some breakfast. I had a few extra minutes before I needed to go so I did a bit of packing before crossing the street at 8:05 to wait for my bus to come pick me up. After a 15 minute ride to school I got off and went in to Park Jr high for the last time as a 7th grader. I went up the the third floor and into my humanities classroom where I talked with some friends before getting called downstairs for a assembly. We watched some videos reflecting on the year and hearing about the candidates for next year’s school President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. After that I went back up to my humanities classroom where we voted, signed one anothers yearbooks, played games, and talked. Then at 11:05 the bell rang for the last time that year and I went outside to get on the bus and half a hour later I was getting off for the last time. I walked home and made some lunch. I spent a few minutes packing a few last things then at 12:05 I joined my health zoom for the last time where we talked about the year, then Signed off of that zoom for the last time then I joined my french one where we talked about all the thing we had learned that year. Then for the last time I joined my P.E. zoom where we did a Kahoot and then were let of half a hour early at 2:00 and after 15 minutes of frantic last minute packing ( Did this mostly consist of dcideding weather or not to bring the disco ball Yes, Did I end up being it also yes, Do I regret this god no.) Then I was buckling my seatbelt and settling in to my seat for the 6 hour drive. I spent most of the time listening to music (more specifically any musical playlist I had downloaded). For the first meal of the trip we had Zak’s delishish sandwiches a local restaurant located in the knott household. Then after two more hours of driving. We then pulled into the parking lot of our first hotel, unloaded and went to bed! As one journey ends another begins- Silvermist
