It is 7:30 I am sitting in a tent with my dad listening to music writing my blog and mentally preparing myself for tommorow. This morning we woke up in Santa Fe and honestly it was a pretty boring day overall. When I woke up I heard chaos in my parents room and walked though it so I could get in the shower. My dad was on the phone and my mom we just walking in with coffee and a chocolate crassont for us to split. I was just confused and was my whole shower. When I got finished in the bathroom I went back out and learned that my dad was on the phone with a ott and apparently there was a computer issue so my dad was giving instructions or something. My mom and sister were on the bolcony having crassont so I joined them. When my dad finished about an hour later we left the hotel. We hit the road and for the second time this trip we had donuts. This time they were out of a food truck and SO good we could see them making them. I got the s’mores donut. It had crispy outside and was drenched in a chocolate drizzled on top was a marshmallow fluff and there was gramcracker crushed on it. To top it all of there was a perfectly toasted marshmallow in the middle. We somehow managed to eat in the car then we drove to what had to be one of the best places in the world. Trader Joe’s. We established a few days ago everyone could pick one thing. The catch was you had to share. I had my heart set on Jo Jo’s. I am sad to say that almost half are gone. My mom choose 11 peaches that for now live in the backseat. Zoe choose trader Joe’s knock off Takis and I think it is unfair she got two bags and I only got 1 box. My dad choose mini chocolate chip cookies. We then hit the road to what might be the second best place. Target. We did not get anything fun at Target just some peanut butter, bread, toothpaste and other boring things that are “essential”. The next bit of the day was very boring it was five hours of driving. I spent the time watching Netflix, playing Subway surfers, and listening to music. At one point we pulled over at the state crossing between new Mexico, and Colorado. My parents made us peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for the first time in a while and I regruntenly ate it. After eating them we all had Jo Jo’s. The drive seemed to drag on forever but we made it to the campsite eventually. The campsite is first come first serve and my parents were very happy to see that we were able to grab the last one. All I am saying is I would not be complaining if we were in a hotel right now. We pulled into our campsite and started unloading stuff from our car Zoe and I each set up a tent and just as I threw my rain cover on cue it started to pour. We still had a lot to so we set up a assembly line and started shoving stuff in the tent deciding to just deal with it later. With rain pouring down on us we ran from the picnic table to the car with the last few things. Once we were all in the car I changed out of my flip flops and into gym shoes. We then spent a few minutes drying well we watched our tents slowly dip in from the pressure of the rain. Quickly my dad ran out to reinforce the stakes Zoe and I had put in. Then we drove to mountain high pies. We got a motzzrella garlic bread and pepperoni pizza with extra garlic. I promise we are not overly obsessed with garlic but we are climbing to the highest point in Colorado tommorow and it is supposed to help with altitude sickness. The only place to sit was outside so we made our way back taking our place under a tent with space heaters we took turns running to the car to grab more sweaters that use as blankets and put on longer pants. The pizza was amazing and in my prefesional opinion we should have gotten a second. We drove back to the campsite and we’re thankful to see the rain had cleared up. My dad and I got into our tent. We blew up our sleeping mats then we wrote posts for ten minutes after the timer went off we played a few rounds of phase ten the stakes are high right now I am on round ten and my dad is on round nine, but of course you have to play with super secret round eleven. Tommorow for the second time we will be attempting Mt. Elbert ,so tonight after I beat my dad at phase ten I am going to listen music well preparing myself for tommorow because as my mom says It’s all a mental game.
