I officially fell in love again with the Moab area this visit. All our hikes were perfect, we found some good food, soaked up the decent temperatures, mixed in some relaxation with adventure, and got to see Ranger Mike.
Our hike today was easy, but so lovely. We’ve done the hike before a few years ago and it was just as perfect this time. We wove in and out, up and down the walls of fins to a breathtaking lookout. We could see miles in all directions it was a reminder of how vast this area is.
This is where I first fell in love with the desert and was reminded of all the reasons why throughout our hikes the past four days.
We fell into a routine here. Hike in the mornings, swim and read in the afternoons, get dinner, and go to bed early and exhausted. Tonight’s dinner was made even better since we got to see Ranger Mike for the first time this trip. It’s so wonderful seeing a familiar face after so much time with just the four of us.
We’re all exhausted and are in bed watching the classic City Slickers. You may be asking, “Why?” Parts of City Slickers 2 was filmed at Fisher Towers and we have to watch the original before we can get to the sequel. At least that’s what Zak is making us do.
