No, I did not get a large buttery, cheesy, hot bowl of fettuccine alfredo but I would do just about anything for one right now to replace the essence of chewy gross beef jerky I just tried to swallow for dinner.
We woke up decently late and enjoyed a warm cinnamon roll outside before heading to Mancos. At the beginning of the trip we put all of our backpacking stuff into the attic to store until we needed it. Today was the day we pulled everything down and packed our bags to go backpacking. We got all our food, clothes, and beds for the next 24 hours into our bags which weigh like 700 lbs.
We started the drive to Utah and arrived to Monticello about 1:30 where I found a super cure lunch spot and got a bagel sandwich. I’ve been craving a bagel since literally day 2 but for some reason hotels are very anti bagel now😤.BUT this multigrain bagel with avocado the ripest tomato, sprouts which I’m still suspicious of and turkey made the last meal for 24 hours delicious.
We pulled to the trail head and almost immediately were ready to hit the trail. I think this was my favorite hike of the trip so far. There was lots of climbing up rocks and having to scramble the side of things. It was 5 miles but felt a lot quicker than that. We only saw a few other people the whole hike and it was perfect.
We have the perfect campsite overlooking the canyon and perfect for stargazing. Right now I’m just wishing I was taking my first bite of a large bowl of Alfredo and listening to this playlist and looking at the stars.😁 Sorry for the short post but im ready for bed.
I will listen to your Playlist on our way home from the east coast. Michael grilled us an amazing striped sea bass tonight – you would have we loved it. Love you!!!
