One Year Check Up

Ellie recently had her one year check up and all is great with our almost-not-a-baby-anymore.  She’s reached all the necessary milestones and is thriving in nearly every aspect.  NEARLY every aspect.  There’s the whole teeth issue.  In spite of her grand ability to eat everything in sight, she has yet to get a tooth.  Fortunately, teeth aren’t really needed for eating.  The doctor wasn’t too concerned and said we’ll just wait for another six months.  If there still aren’t any teeth then we’ll head to a dentist for some x-rays to make sure they’re up there in those gums.  I’m not sure what we’ll do if there aren’t any baby teeth, but I suppose we’ll just sit tight until her grown-up teeth grow in.  It won’t be too weird to still have a toothless six year old?  Right?  I mean, you’ll still think she’s pretty cute, right?  Promise?

Ellie continues to grow and is now about 23 pounds (she was not very cooperative on the scale and we didn’t get the ounces) and 30 inches long.  Those stats put her in the 75th percentile for weight and 90th for height.  I think we’re going to have another tall one!

Unfortunately, I had scheduled the appointment too far before her birthday and she couldn’t get the immunizations.  We’ll go back in a couple of weeks for the shots.
