On Sunday Molly hosted her book club so I got to spend the day with E and Z. We had big plans to go to the zoo that were made even bigger when we decided that it would be good to get out of the house a bit earlier and head to Blueberry Hill for breakfast. I had a delicious Fiesta Skillet (potatoes, green pepper, onion, chorizo, eggs, cheese and salsa). Zoe had a hard time choosing between pancakes and french toast, but finally went with the pancakes (I managed to get her to eat the sausage with the “just put it in your mouth” trick). Ellie had her usual of course.
After breakfast we headed over to the zoo. Zoe’s first request was to see the elephants. She is getting so fun to watch with the animals. She’s always liked the zoo, but mainly for the children’s part. I think this year will be a lot of fun since she is so into all the animals. We also saw the rhino-saurus, the fish exhibit, baboons (“wow baboons, too much poop baboons!”), and of course made a stop at the play zoo. The only down side to the day was that it was too cold to picnic, so we had to head home for lunch.
