What a perfect day. It involved nothing more than amazing hotel rooms, fabulous food, fancy drinks, and peaceful pools. A perfect way to celebrate our 14th(!) anniversary. There really isn’t much to write about. We woke up at The Angler’s in South Miami Beach, waded, sunned, and read all morning. Then made our way up to north to Tideline in Palm Beach, where we spent the afternoon wading, sunning, and reading.
The highlight of the day for me was a dinner out with just Zak. We had an incredibly romantic dinner at Brandon’s right on the ocean. It was perfect. The girls graciously agreed to a girls’ night in the hotel room eating carry out and binge watching HGTV. I’m honestly not sure who had a more enjoyable night, us or them.
I’m sure you don’t want to this post to turn into an ode to Zak, so I’ll keep it short. I wouldn’t want anyone else to walk hand in hand with through life. He keeps me on my toes, challenges and encourages me, makes parenting fun, sets goals that are grand and marvelous, like climbing a 14er as a family. (And not so noteworthy ones like eating a Dorito taco from Taco Bell this summer.) We’ve changed a lot since we were newlyweds, but I’m thrilled we grew together into “us.” I’m honored to call him my partner in every way.
Here are the pictures from the last two days. We don’t take enough these days. I don’t even bring the good camera to the beach/pool, so they are all cell phone pics.
