We are solidly into the vacation phase of RTXVI. In fact, we’re about halfway through it. It’s hard to believe that we’ll be home in just 5 days. I’m really not sure how we’re all going to handle the change! I didn’t blog yesterday because of Kimpton. We spent yesterday afternoon and this morning at The Angler’s and I think I may have a new favorite Kimpton.
Upon check-in we were escorted to our three-story suite. I don’t think I even realized that that type of thing existed! On the lower level we had a great sitting room that converted into a bedroom for the girls. Molly and I had a suite on the second floor and the rooftop had a great sitting area and even an outdoor shower that all of us were excited to take a turn in.
We enjoyed make-your-own mojitos and the girls delighted in make-your-own lemonades. There were cakes and cookies, a end of the road Miami magnet, and more. Our lower patio opened up to the pool deck which made for a perfect afternoon of slipping in and out of the water. For dinner we had awesome appetizers and the hotel’s restaurant, 660. The gator bits were particularly delicious. We decided that we were all more in the mood for a more low key burger though so we headed down the block.
We spent the morning at the pool with a break for really fancy PBJ&C’s along with chocolate rum cake. Then made the hour and a half drive back to the North (the first leg of our long trip home) and returned to the Tideline where we were a couple nights ago. We were welcomed back with a celebratory bottle of champagne and chocolate dipped strawberries.
Tonight Molly and I actually get to have a night out together at Brandon’s, the restaurant here where we ate with the girls a couple nights ago. It’s been a fabulous fourteen years of marriage (and even more of togetherness). I don’t think either of us would have thought this is where we’d be at this point, but I’m awfully happy that we are and that we’ve been able to do it together. How lucky for me that that I ended up married to Zoe and Ellie’s mom, who most certainly has got it goin’ on. Even more so than Stacy’s mom.
