We’ve wrapped another day in the mountains. I realized pretty early this morning that I am still scared of driving in the mountains, we just hadn’t been on the scary ones yet. We started the day by driving to Arapaho National Forest where you can drive to the top of Mount Evans (the highest paced road in North America) at the visitors center it was described as “not up to modern standards” but we decided to give it a try. We made it to 11,500 ft (of 14,200) but decided that the 2,000ft ledge that we were teetering along was enough reason to start back down.
After that we got back on I70 heading west, relaxed a bit at the hotel in Frisco and went on to check out Vail. The kids really enjoyed the pirate ship playground there, and Mol and I enjoyed seeing the town.
We’re back at the hotel now, and I think everyone is finally asleep, maybe even Molly. We’re all excited to see what tomorrow brings!
