Fourth of July (a little late)

We started the day at the Brookfield parade.

We then headed out to my parents’ for a little Fourth of July BBQ.

That evening Zak, Zoe and I went to the Batavia fireworks.

(Our camera has a firework setting and this is the kind of picture it took. Very unimpressive.)

Zoe was such a hoot during the fireworks. She was so excited for them to start and loved it when they finally did! She was in absolute awe. For just three minutes. That’s right. Just three minutes. Then she was bored out of her mind. Totally and utterly bored. Twenty-five minutes later they ended and, much to our shock, she was so upset. She cried, and wailed, and bawled. Silly kid.

The next morning we all went to breakfast at Nosh.

It was over delicious coffee and bloody mary’s we decided to spend another day and night in Geneva. My parents’ had another great barbecue for us, Mike and Sara, and a bunch of dear family friends. It was a great weekend that flew by!
