This is the first full week of school for Zak and we are all talking our time adjusting. Zoe woke up yesterday and today saying, “Daaaa? Daaaa?” Then today before her nap she excitedly pointed downstairs and said, “Dada! Dada!” I assured her that Zak would be home after her nap and a smile spread across her face as she laid her head down on her pillow. Zak is missing Zoe lots too and I know will be very jealous when he finds out we went to the zoo today and made a nature banner in the children’s play zoo. I’m having a rough time also, as now I have to do everything. I don’t mind, but I did get used to all the awesome help Zak did this summer. I had forgotten how tough it is to empty the dishwasher, sing “Row, Row, Row Your Boat” and make frozen waffles all at once. (Please note that “Row, Row, Row Your Boat” has very specific hand motions that must be done properly in insure a happy Zoe.)
On Zak’s last day of summer, Sunday, he surprised Zoe and me with all sorts of fun activities to do this school year, most of which are Crayola products. We were so surprised and thrilled with all the goodies, including new finger paint and paper, markers to decorate windows, gel paints, and a 1500 piece craft bucket! Right up our alley!
