Lookin’ Out My Back Door

Just got home from Illinois

Lock the front door, oh boy

Got to sit down, take a rest on the porch.

Lots of things have happened since I last wrote over a week ago. Friends visited Mancos, we visited those same friends at their house, we went to Chicago, we stayed at a Kimpton. Crazy week. The good news is that we’re now back in Mancos as intended and today was a five mountain day. πŸ”οΈπŸ”οΈπŸ”οΈπŸ”οΈπŸ”οΈ

Molly and I had been wanted to go for a bike ride on our own and also wanting to try the trails at Boggy Draw near Dolores. Today was the perfect day for both those things. I loved the trails there, possible more than Phil’s World, but I’ll need some more rides to decide for sure. We ended up doing 13.5 miles, which was exactly the right amount for me. The ponderosa pines towering over the trail gave a lot of shady spots. There were lots of long gentle downhill parts where we just cruised along.

Our next stop was at one of our favorite places, Montezuma Mexican, for margaritas which really hit the spot. We also stopped in Cortez to buy the grill Molly had her eye on. I’m glad we did because it led to a delicious dinner, prepared by Molly of bacon wrapped filet, grilled onion, and potatoes. πŸ”οΈπŸ”οΈπŸ”οΈπŸ”οΈπŸ”οΈ
