“Head in the clouds” – Alicia Keys
For me the first half of today was pretty crummy. I just hung out in the hotel waiting for the girls to get back from their adventure, at least I’m back to healthy though. Go read their posts for all the details about their morning. I was super proud of them and also super jealous of them getting to complete their second 14er. Way to go!
I was also really excited when they got back to the hotel since it meant I could start my day. We spent way too long sitting in traffic on I70. Since it was the first traffic neusence of the trip I won’t complain too much. We made a stop at one of our favorite Colorado spots, the Lewis Sweet Shop, for thick shakes that were just as big as we remembered.
After finishing our ice cream we made one last quick drive to Evergreen where we were welcomed by the Stewarts. I’d been jealous of their move to Colorado since they made it last year, but am even more so after getting to sit on their deck enjoying their view.
We went out for a tasty dinner and then came back and watched the kids roll down a driveway with more elevation change than all of Chicago. I know this post is short, but it’s late and we’ve got a big day tomorrow!
