Devil’s Garden, 8 miles, 1,200 feet of elevation, and sandy all describe today. If you don’t remember in 2015 we were in a flash flood at Arches National Park. Whenever we hike on that trail I am still a little bit afraid.
Today half of our family woke up at 5:30 and the other half of the family at 6:00. At 6:00 I woke up and got dressed right away. We were on the road by 6:30 and stopped at the Love Muffin Cafè. We drove about an hour and finally got to the Trailhead. Due to the construction project at Arches National Park today was the first day that the Devil’s Garden Trail was open so there was a tourist crowd walking only to landscape arch.
We started the hike at 7:30-8:00ish and hiked A LOT of up hill. We got to scramble and climb with a foot wide death ledge that was a lot safer. The hike was 💯 degrees and sunny. We had trail mix and PBJ and C. (🙁) At lunch we went live by Dark Angel. We saw a lot of Arches such as Rabbit Trap Arch, and Double O Arch.
Now we are driving five hours to Great Basin National Park to camp for 3 nights in a row.
