If you look at the pictures of Zoe on a regular basis, you’ll be able to tell she has some pretty cute clothes. We are very grateful to our friends and family, because many were gifts. However, many were also given to Zoe as “hand-me-downs” from a delightful family I used to baby-sit for.** One of the pieces from them is a darling sleeper with tiny poodles running about.

Zak was getting Zoe dressed one day and I had put this sleeper out for her to wear. Suddenly, I hear a combination shriek-laugh-cry from Zak, which is not too uncommon while he’s dressing Zoe. You see, this cute sleeper has 17 sets of snaps and Zak was simply overwhelmed. Phrases like, “Why so many?” and “How the heck?” and “Stupid designer!” and “But they don’t match up!” and “Why? Why? Why?” emerged from the room. Then Zak came out holding Zoe, who was in a completely different sleeper.

She wore the sleeper yesterday, and in spite of there being many snaps, perhaps too many, Zoe was precious in it. I documented the whole process of getting her snapped in with a series of photographs that Zak will post soon, so be on the lookout.

** Prior to Zoe’s arrival, actually prior to any ideas of Zoe, Zak had what he called a “sheet theory.” His idea was that he was going to buy our children a new bed sheet on each of their birthdays and they would have to wear that sheet the entire year. He thought this would be a good way to save money. His idea was that the kids could alter the sheet to make an outfit or two and he’d get them a nice sheet (as to not embarrass them.) So when I say, “We’re grateful.” I really, truly mean it.
