You don’t know what it means to win
Come down and see me again
Fleetwood Mac
Alright, I admit it, writing every morning didn’t work great either. In my defense though, there hasn’t been a lot to write about. That isn’t to say I haven’t been busy, quite the opposite. It’s just that I haven’t been up to anything that will make for riveting reading. So, here’s the breakdown of what’s been going on in Mancos.
Construction projects: I’m going to call the workbench substantially finished at this point. Caster wheels ended up being the main excitement of the past couple days. I’d accidentally only ordered one, then used the “order this item again” button to get a second, but ended up with one that was completely different from the first. This led me to make my first trip to a Big R, my new favorite store. It’s like Fleet Farm reincarnated. Literally anything one could need. I can’t wait to bring the fam. There are still a couple features that I need to finish for the bench. Notably the outfield table for the table saw and a flip up assembly table to widen the bench when needed.
I also began on my next major project, the built in bunk beds going in the guest room upstairs. So far this project has entailed a lot of time staring at the space, taking a measurement, staring some more, reading an article, staring some more, etc. It turns out there are about five different ways to do each of the 100 different things than need to be done. Leading to way too many possibilities. With people’s lives literally on the line I want to make sure this is all done correctly. I have framed in three sides of one of the bottom bunks and have a plan for finishing it out. One more trip to the Big R and I’ll be able to finish that frame. Then to finish the table saw module and learn how to use a table saw so I can cut the plywood to finish the bunks.

Crochet: Somehow I haven’t had nearly enough time for this. I have finished the colorful section of the blanket I’m working on (just a few rows of brown to go) as well as one of the baskets I’m making for Molly and my nightstands to hold keys and wallets. No progress in my granny square blanket yet.
Ukulele: I “finished” one song I’ve been writing. I’ve learned several others. Hopefully the neighbors enjoy being serenaded by ukulele as the sun sets each night.
Biking: I finally got my bike on a trail this morning. I’ve gone to the mailbox several times, and took a long ride out to the highway and back, but this morning woke up early to visit Phil’s World. There were some tense moments, but I didn’t fall once!

All The Other Stuff I’d Planned on Doing: Nope.
Cannot wait to see your family’s Big R modeling photo for the outfits you all find there!
