Today started like and other day got up at 6:30 and got some breakfast and started the drive to where we were hiking. Today’s the spot was Canyonlands. We did the trail Murphys Hogback, Murphys Wash, and Right Trail Road. It started as a 1 mile flat hike and then started to go down a canyon wall. It kept on going and it just kept geting steeper. Eventually we were going straight down a canyon wall. It was so scary. But then it started to get flatter. Once it started to even out it🦁(random lion) got hot. I think it hit 100 degrees. Then we went up to the top of a mesa and followed along the top for a little bit before meeting up with a road that was meant for only Jeeps so it was a bad and very rocky. We saw a few jeeps but none of the stopped. The road was also very steep. After the road we got on to the last and most strenuous trail. It was down a sandy wash. That was very exposed and hot. It was very windy and hard to hike. Then the real challenge came scaling up the side of a thousand foot canyon. Thankfully there was a pretty well marked trail. So we were able to find the way up pretty easily. It was steep though we took a break every seven swithbacks. Once we made it to the top we did the last mile of flat ground and made it back to Fred. After getting back to Moab I had homemade ice cream in a homemade cone. Then we got back to the hotel and hopped in the pool. Tonight we plan on going to the Moab Brewery for dinner.
