This morning at 6:00 I was rudely awoken by my dad saying he thought I was dead because no one could wake me up. Once I was up I got dressed and ready we paked up the room. We repacked the car we grabbed some breakfeast and checked out of the hotel. Then 🍔(random hamburger) we hopped in the car for our second day of driving. We drove five hours (see yeasterday’s post for things I did in the car) and arrived at our destination. I do not really know were we were but I do know it was close to the town of Boulder. My dad had planned that we summit Green Mountain. The trail was 5 miles and had an elavation gain of 2000 ft. I know a lot for day two. Am I right? When we got to the parking lot it was 100% full and not one open spot for us. So we turned around and kept driving up the mountain while my mom google srearched a new trail head. Once we got there we laced up our boots, straped on our backpacks and pulled out our poles. We were ready although it wasn’t as much it was still 3 miles with an elevation of 700 ft. Up we went up and up and up. It was very steep and rocky so there was a good chance of falling. Then we about 500 feet from the top and it was really steep and my mom had to help me use my poles and then we were there. It was amazing. It reminded me that we were there again. We sat down for pb j and c (peanut butter jelly and cheetos) and headed back down to finish up the drive for the day and then it was over. The first hike was done. We pulled off our shoes and took off our backpacks and drove off to the first Kimpton of the trip.
