Finally we summited Mt. Ida. After planning to do it for 2 years we were stopped by rain and snow.
It was beautiful you could see the whole park. We saw mountains, cars, and animals. So many animals we saw deer, yellowed bellied marmots, elk, ground squirrels, pikas, and moose. The top was cold and windy but worth 100% of it.
This morning we woke up around 5 and started the hike at 6:30. We apperaently still have a problem with taking too long to pack up camp. The hike started by going up but it eventually evened out. Wildflowers in an array of colors were visible the whole time.
This is our 10th mountain not including Mt. Elbert. This was in my top 10 for sure. Not super steep, and amazing views. I was so excited when we got to the world. I felt like I was on top of the world.
After we went out for calamari because Ellie is with us. We are relaxing at the hotel but will go to the wheel bar for dinner. It was an amazing day!
