Fiery Furnace By Ourselves

Today definitely qualifys as one of the best days of the trip. We woke up and I had a juicy orange for breakfast.

We arrived at the fiery furnace just after 8. I personally liked doing the hike by ourselves better than the tour because we got to go climbing on rocks and exploring slot canyons. I love scrambling and climbing, those are defiently the best type of hiking. We get to slide down rocks, scramble up rocks, and cry when you have to go down them because I was scared. We followed the main trail but did little things off of it. The hike was amazing. I loved when we went to walk-under and crawl-through arch because we spend a lot of time there. At the beginning there was this little trail that we went on at the end was a bunch of rocks that we climbed on. At the end when we were going toward Surprise Arch we took a wrong turn and ended up getting lost for about 10ish minutes. Or as dad would say “We know where we are, we just don’t know where the trail is.” Anyway we found the trail and were greeted by surprise arch. We stayed there for awhile and relaxed then headed out.

After the possible best hike of the trip we went to the visitors center. Ellie got to go to the rangers offices and came back with some, old postcards, a book, and the biggest smile. After we went to the Moab brewery for an appetizer. We are going out for dinner and then stargazing with ranger Mike. That should be super fun!
