We all got up at 7:25, way later then I wanted to. We all got up out of bed, put on our clothes, opened the curtains saw a matching band, and brushed our teeth. You know normal morning stuff. After that we went down to the lobby for some breakfast and we were on the road again. After about a half a hour of driving we stopped at the Brown v Board of Education school house. Inside we got to see a kindergarten classroom and the auditorium. We also learned about how they heated and cooled the school. We also became Jr. Rangers.
Then we got back in the car to drive 4 hours. After about three hours of driving we got out and got the peanut butter, jelly, and bread. My mom tried to make them in the car but 3/4 of the family got some jelly on them. Just so you know do not make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches in the car.😛
A hour later we stopped at Fort Larned. It was amazing! We got to see how the army men slept, work, and dressed. I even got to try the uniform on it was big and hot😰. We learned that they had bunk beds and there were two people in each bed so the were four people in each bunk bed. We also got to see a black Smith and school. Some of the captains got more space then others because they were ranked higher.
Four hours later we got to are hotel. We unpacked some are stuff and drove to what was supposed to be a very good taco truck. But of course it was closed. So we went to a taco spot down the street but that was closed to. So we drove back to see hotel to find a OPEN restrunt accross the street. We went over and had some good tacos and burritos. We came back to the hotel and took showers. Before we know it it was the end of day 2. I already know tomorrow will be a even better day.😜
Ellie,
Your postcard came in the mail today! I can’t wait to hang it up in the classroom in August. How awesome that you got to see such an important historical site that you did so much research on this year. I hope you have an amazing remainder of your trip. Be safe!
