I’m watching, too! Fruita! So close, yet so far! Just think, next year you can coordinate your visit there with Mike the Headless Chicken Days. Do you remember Roger’s (two) tee shirts? And I know how easy it is to speed on I-70 in the mountains while you’re just trying to stay on the road…..love hearing about your trip!

Mike the Headless Chicken was a story in Ripley’s Believe It or Not that Roger loved as a kid. (Poor Mike’s head was cut off but he lived for a couple years and was a side-show freak and died a tragic death in a seedly motel. He was fed by eye dropper. Okay I’ll stop.) Anyway, on our first trip to the area we were driving through Fruita and Roger saw the billboard “Welcome to Fruita, home of Mike the Headless Chicken.” He experienced, of course, the thrill of his life, as he hadn’t really believed Mike had existed. We visited the Fruita Town Hall and purchased tee shirts and beer mugs. The workers were amused at how excited we were.
So sorry about your speeding ticket. You guys take everything in stride so well. So glad ypu had fun at the rodeo. Hope Ashley will be ok from her fall off the horse. You guys always have womderful adventures. Would love to visit Colorado one day. I don’t know if I mentioned we have friends in the Estes Park area. Maybe one day we can visit them. They always give us an open invitation.
