sheep 1

I know that sheep 1 is a weird name for a blog post about a practice hike. But I have a point during the summer my mom f0r her name of blog post dose day…. So I have to think of something new whenever we do a practice hike I will call it sheep…  and for during the summer I will call it cow… (day…). On with the weekend me and my dad left right after school to start a 5 HOUR drive to Michigan at one point in the drive we stoped for dinner. For dinner we had meat pizza it was very yummy. We had the left overs 4 A morning snack and lunch the next day. After dinner we finished up our 5 hour drive we only had about one more hour we got to the hotel around 10 Michigan time. The next day we woke up early and took showers we split a waffle at the hotel and I had some cereal my dad had a muffin. Then we hit the road it was about a 40 minute drive to where we were trying to get to where we would start our 26 mile hike. Once we got to the campground where we would be parking Hans  AKA my dad’s car. We got our backpacks out of the trunk and started our way to the head of the trail my dad took a picture of the map so we would not get lost only it didn’t work very well because we ended up getting lost I’ll tell you about that later. There was a trail that started and ended the loop. It was about a mile long we did that little Trail and then we then we walked around along the river well the first day we weren’t really next the river we were about a mile away from it and and we got a quick glimpse of it every once in awhile. The first day was a long day for sure we we started hiking and then about oh I don’t know mile or two into it we got lost my Dad tried to claim later that my dad that we did not get lost but we did. We accidentally took a little bit of a wrong turn about 10 steps back where we got a little puzzled. We were at a campsite about  turned out we happen to miss when we were back tracking just a little bit I mean like half a mile just a little bit we ended up walking through a big group of ferns and and trees and then we were on a road and we ended up exactly where we got lost except we took a turn like 10  steps  back we were on the road. Again on the trail again able to do One mile in 30 minutes if we got a record time then I was one mile in 20 minutes we ended up at a really not so cool Bridge where we had like a nice long break we filtered some water which was the first timer except for the time that it didn’t work out and then we did about 1 mile on the other side of the river the other side of the river was a lot prettier because he the river the whole time about a mile into it we found a really great campsite right next to the river. we set up camp and then got them the temp my dad took a nap well I set my sleeping mat and then I rested for a little bit will my dad set up his sleeping mat we ended up playing a little game of Phase 10 after that we had some dinner  and then went to bed   and then got at 7:00  morning we hiked for a little bit and about 3 hours before we Finished it started raining it was a huge bummer .But we just kept going the beginning was just a light sprinkle but the end was a hard downpour we finally made it back to that mile at the beginning and that cheered us up a lot I was practically running. We made it back to Hans and got in the car for a 5 hour drive back we were happy when we got home to find Juicy Burgers and sweet calamari calamari is my trail name and fluffy is my dad so we had some nice fluffy angel food cake for dessert overall it was a long but great weekend.#Ihikeforcalamari
