An Open Letter to Ranger Mike from Ellie

1-28-17

Dear Ranger Mike,

I still want to be a ranger when I grow up, because I still care about all the animals and plants that have been preserved. I feel scared that the National Parks might not stay how they are because of what has happened this week. I am still very grateful that I got to go to Arches National Park and see all the amazing landforms. Meeting you was really special and showed me that rangers care so much about the land. I was angry when I heard that no new rangers are being hired to work at the National Parks. I hope that I will be allowed to be a ranger when I grow up. I went to the big protest march in Chicago and my mommy went to Washington DC. We saw people carrying signs to help the National Parks.

I hope you are doing well at Arches.

Love,
Ellie
