Yeah she is pretty great alright. Lately she’s had the hiccups really often and bad. It’s so funny because she gets a look on her face that alternates back and forth between being totally put off (“Why is my time being wasted with these hiccups again!”) and true concern (“Dad, if I don’t make it through this tell mom ‘so long, and thanks for all the milk'”). She has mastered the poop n’ pee trick where she poops her diper, luring me into the trap of changing it where she then proceeds to pee all over me, herself, her cloths, and pretty much anything within a 3 foot radius. She is super inquisitive now, when she is awake she spends all her time looking around taking in the world. I’ve tried to show her as much as I can, but there’s a lot to learn about and she is less than 2 weeks old.

In other news, I accomplished one of my life goals this week. (No, this is not a humerous post, this really was a life goal of mine). I successfuly opened a walnut and kept the entire nut intact in a single piece! Ever since I started eating walnuts in the shell I have wanted to do this, and actually had sort of decided last season that it was probably impossible to do. But like most things it happened when I least expected it to. Yesterday, I was sitting on the couch waiting for the chili to reheat in the microwave and I decided to eat a couple of nuts. I wasn’t even really paying attention to what I was doing, but when I felt the inital crack of the shell it sounded pretty promising. I started to pay a little more attention to what I was doing and successfully removed half the shell with the entire nut still together. I had made it this far before, but only a precious few times. I knew that success was within sight, but that there was still a good chance it could fail. I decided the best way to proceed was to try to use the nutcracker to just weaken the shell a bit, I squeezed just until I heard a small crack, and then barehanded began to chip away the remaining shell. The rest is history, and here’s the picture to prove it!

Ok, a few more pictures, and then I’ll wrap it up for the night. Here’s Zoe and I reading. She’s getting better at making it all the way through a book without getting bored. Here’s Zoe and I looking cute.
