Wow, this has been a really hectic past couple of days for me! For all of you who are just here to read about “baby”, why don’t you just follow this link to more new pictures from last weekend’s baby shower. This most recent set is brought to you courtesy of Nic and Molly’s mom.
Alright, now that we’ve gotten rid of them, now I can tell you about my weekend! For those of you who hadn’t heard I was hosting the sectional meeting of the American Association of Physics Teachers this weekend. I’m happy to report that everything went very well. Last night was especially exciting since I got to eat dinner next to Leon Lederman, who is the Albert Einstien of our generation. He won his Noble prize for physics in 1988 for discovering subatomic particles. I have to get this out of the way first, so here’s the picture:
Needless to say, it was a pretty cool night. I didn’t really know what sort of things to ask him, but my favorite was to ask what is it like to win a Nobel prize. He said “I’d really recommend it, there’s a great party”. So I guess I’ll get to work on that. Maybe I’ll get one for the talk I did at the meeting “Technology Outside of the Physics Classroom“. Would one of you please nominate me to the committee? Anyway, everything ran really smoothly at the meeting. I’m going to take a nap now!
