Things are well with us. My mom hosted a beautiful shower for the baby and me this past weekend. I just can’t get over how generous everyone was. It was great to see so many friends and family, especially those who traveled. This baby is already so loved, and no one even knows her yet! We spent part of Sunday putting together some of the fun things received, like the bedding, bouncy seat, and diaper champ.

My work had a nice shower for me and another pregnant woman today. It was also very nice. We received so many darling baby girl outfits. I’m glad I kind of want a girly-girl, because this baby has more pink than you could imagine.

We took another class on Sunday afternoon. It was titled Basic Baby Care, but Zak was quick to point out that it should have been called Basic Baby Care For the Extremely Mentally Challenged. I think we were both expecting a bit more out of it, but we didn’t really learn anything new. I guess maybe we are cut out for this job!

We had the first of our weekly doctor appointments yesterday. The baby’s heartbeat is still strong and everything is measuring correctly. We are pretty much just playing the waiting game now.

This weekend is going to be a busy one for us. Zak and his two physics co-teachers are hosting a nerd convention, oh I’m sorry a physics teacher conference. He has been very busy planning and shopping and such. In fact at Sam’s we got to use one of the flatbed carts today for the first time. Zak’s aunts are also coming into town to visit this weekend. We are doing a girls’ day shopping on Michigan Ave. and exploring other parts of the city! I’m really looking forward to it!

I guess that is about all that is new around here. We are just trying to wait patiently until the baby comes and until the White Sox win the World Series. Hopefully tonight!
