This morning we woke up and went our own ways. My mom went to Yoga, my dad did laundry, and Ellie and I swam with our friends from last night.
Our first NPS site of the day was Walnut Canyon. Again there were cliff dwellings. The hike we did was about half of a mile. The houses were cool but there were so many stupid people. Who thinks to their self “I’m going to sit on the walls of a 800 year old house, that sound like a perfect plan!”? Well the people that we saw today did that. The “hike” on and “island” in the canyon. Although it wasn’t tropical and you didn’t drink frozen lemonade out of a pineapple it was still very pretty.
The next place was Sunset Crater. That was also very pretty. I personally like it better. There we met a very nice ranger who suggested a 1 mile hike through all the basalt from the volcano. The hike was very fun but I would definitely not recommend it in flip flops unlike we all did. Now my feet are dirty an we are camping tonight.
We just finished at Wapatki NM. We didn’t spend much time there or read anything so there isn’t much to talk about. The one thing I find interesting is a woman who is a native American still live on the Site in her house.
We went out for dinner and had tacos, pizza, and chips. Now we are going camping. Fun times in the Knott Family!✌️
