T minus 23 days

It is almost time. The countdown is so close to wrapping up. However, to shift my thoughts from regular daily life to summer life is so difficult. I have spent so little time actually thinking about the trip, but when I do my heart seems to skip a beat and I am briefly overcome with pure joy. I’m a coach for our school’s Girls on the Run team and we had our 5k yesterday. The science and math after school club I teach wrapped up on Monday. The girls have performed in their final band concerts and their early morning rehearsals are *almost* done. Our school years are coming to a close and I think it is bittersweet for us all.

It’s been hard to think about the trip with so much else going on, but we intentionally carved out time this week to focus on rtxviii and we went to Costco. The Costco tab of the spreadsheet was a long list of nonperishable food items that we don’t buy any other time of the year.

I’ll be honest. I’m getting writer’s block. I’m not sure if it is because I haven’t really written anything in a year or if because there just isn’t all that much to say about buying Cheetos, trail mix, and beef jerky. I guess I’ll leave you with the pictures of the errand and get back to stressing out about work and laundry. 23 more days. We can do it!

Also!! I almost forgot!! We set up the Packing Table. (Yes, it has earned the status of a proper noun.) This is the earliest that we have ever set it up, but I think we’re all okay with it taking up most of our family room until departure.
