Today was a city day, the first one in a very long while that I’ve spent in Nashville. The first one in Nashville ever for the girls. The plan was to wonder around the city taking in the sights and the fried chicken along the way. The day was successful in both regards.
For sights we made it to the lobbies & gift shops of the country music Hall of Fame and the Johnny Cash museum, the Tin Roof where we saw three singer/guitarists performing (https://open.spotify.com/track/5i8l686zVXPPtzi3DFTy2c), the Cumberland River, and many public art installations. My favorite of the public art pieces we saw was Stix. We each tried, quite unsuccessfully to count the number of stix. Apparently counting is not a Knott strong suit.
We also ate all the best fried chicken in Nashville. First at Biscuit Love, where it was served above a fresh and fluffy biscuit and below a sausage gravy. Then, at Hattie B’s where it came in the hot Nashville style accompanied by fries, Mac and cheese, and coleslaw.
We also spent a considerable amount of time at the rooftop pool this afternoon and then again after dinner. Not a bad day overall.
