Visiting Arches National Park

To day we had planned on hiking in the mountains not the desert. I’m sure that you have heard this a thousand times but due to the snow we went to the desert instead. We saw Wall Street, Delicate Arch, and Ranger Mike.

We started with Wall Street. Not the big business Street in New York but in Arches. It is hard to describe but at the same time so easy. Imagine two huge walls on either side of you but made of rock. That is what it looked like. I know words don’t do a justice nor do pictures you just have to be there. The Wall Street Hike was 2 miles and a lot of elevation. During the Wall Street we didn’t see any Arches but, it was still beautiful. There was a lot of stupid people throughout the hike.

The next hike we did was strenuous, long, steep, and beautiful. We hiked the four miles to Delicate Arch. This hike was steep uphill on a rock. It was HOT! Some of us had a hard time with the up hill. It took 2.5 hours. Delicate Arch is a lot different than it looks in pictures. In pictures it looks like the land is flat and Archy but it isn’t really it’s just a lonely arch on a slanted surface. During the hike we had a lunch of Peanut Butter and Jelly with Cheetos.

After that we drove to the visitors center to see in Ranger Mike was there and he was. We said hi and asked his some questions. Then he came back out with a real ranger hat for Ellie that was his old one. The hat is hard and legit.

After that visit to Arches National Park we drove to the laundromat and put in the first load of laundry for the trip. Now we are sitting in The Spoke eating a bowl of hummus and a few pitas. This was a great day in Arches National Park.
