Cow 3

Today was crazy and full of adventures we started on a well marked down hill and ended on 4 inch snowy ledge with a 500 foot drop (it was after the hike that my mom and dad told me I could have died) here is how the day want we woke up and got ready for the day and stated the half hour drive to the trailhead when we got there we decided to start the way here we could start down and end down. Today we all got trailnames. My dad and I already had trailnames, Calamari and Fluffy. My mom and Zoe got their trailnames today. My mom thought of Zoe’s and I thought of my mom’s. My mom’s is Downhill. That one might need an explanation. My mom loves downhill like a lot more than downhill. Zoe’s nickname is Shooter. I won’t give an explanation.

We were all in a good mood until we came to snow. It was 10 feet of snow, straight up snow. I know it sounds crazy that there was ten feet of snow in June, but Colorado got so much snow this year. We were hiking in the snow, then we came to a nice open spot. We went live on Facebook there. We hiked a little met more and then me the Death Ledge. Basically, we made up this name, but we named it the Death Ledge because if you slipped then you would die. Luckily none of us died. I explained it at the top. It was 4 inches of snow and a 500 foot drop. I had my mom carry my poles through it. There were about 4 or 5 death ledges. We were very thankful when we saw Dream Lake. It meant that we were done with our ten mile hike. So we decided to do another loop. It was only a mile long and we all survived. We had a long crazy and adventerous day. #IHikeForCalamari

  1. Ellie, some of your day sounds so pretty and some of it sounds so scary. Be sure to tell your mom and dad to keep you safe.
