We backpacked for the first time. Yep! And, we survived! I am going to give some highs of the weekend.
Saturday – The parade: It was part of the Snake Valley Festival a protest to save the water and had 10 floats and had maybe 20? people watching it.
The campsite: It was overlooking Pyramid Peak, a spring, and a lot of deer.
Other Stuff: There was a lot of uphill. Over 1,200 feet in 3 miles. We had beef jerky, beef sticks, trail mix, raisins, and little debbies for dinner.
Sunday – Playing cards: After the hike we went to a restaurant and played card games such as I doubt it and 7’s.
Dinner: We went to Kerouac’s for dinner. I split a margarita pizza with my mom.
Other Stuff: We all smell by now and we camped again.
Monday – Today we visited Lehman Caves. We saw many cave features such as stalagmites, stalactites, cave bacon, and cave popcorn. We hiked 0.6 miles in the cave. The cave was very pretty and interesting. We saw a bat! After the cave tour we started our 6 hour drive. We had McDonald’s for lunch. We will arrive in an hour.
