Hiking Green Mountain

Well, today we hiked a mountain. I wasn’t necessarily the tallest mountain or the longest trail but, we still summited a mountain.

I started the day by waking up at 5:50 and immediately got dressed, brushed my teeth, and put on deodorant. We grabbed some breakfast and ate in the car.

The drive to Boulder was pretty uneventful. It was five hours and we saw mountains for the first time this trip so that was cool. We entertained ourselves by watching Parks and Rec again, doing my summer workbook, and looking out the window.

After about four and a half hours we started going up at a lot steeper pace. We were finally going up steep mountain roads and watching to look over the edge at the beautiful view but afraid of the 5,000 foot drop.

When we drove up for half an hour we reached the trailhead we were planning to start from. The only problem was that there was no parking so we kept on driving up the mountain hoping to find another trailhead. We weren’t too disappointed about that though because the hike would be 5 miles round trip and 2,000 feet of gain.

Eventually, we found another trailhead and decided to hike that up because it would only 3 miles roundtrip and 700 feet up.

The hike up was super pretty. There were views all around us of different mountain ranges, Purple and yellow wildflowers bordered the trail. It was the perfect first hike of the trip!!

After we drove to the first Kimpton stay of the trip.

Tonight we are going to wine hour and then a dispatch party for dinner.
