July 14,
This morning we woke up after an okay sleep. The TV was on all night there was no pictures or words coming out of it but it was on and you couldn’t turn it off so that was annoying.
Right now I am laying in my tent listening to the creek. But so much has happened today. As we arrived at the trailhead. We were going through the list.
- Poop Bags ✅
- Bathroom at the Trailhead❌
- Clothes for the next few days✅
- Russel Stover ❌ ( My parents broke the news to hear that we couldn’t bring with our chocolate)
We started hiking and decided that we would record ourselves singing the bear scare song. You’ll have to watch it but it involves the selfie stick and walking. It was 4 takes long.
- Take 1- Random dude walked by. We all started laughing and had to explain to him what we were doing.
- Take 2- My dad said it was blurry.
- Take 3- It’s still blurry.
- Take 4- Perfect?!?!
- After hiking some more we saw a little pool of water. After a few seconds I Ellie and I spotted a moose at the exact same time.
- Z- “It’s a”
- Z&E- “Moose!”
The hike was beautiful the whole time. We saw numerous types of wildflowers, and grasses. Finally, after 37 days we are hiking in the mountains. The hike today was 9ish miles long and took us 5 or 6ish hours.
The “big selling point” for this hike is the hot spring at the end. We weren’t quite sure if we were going to go there or not because we “may not have fit in” luckily we didn’t not fit in. And no one was nude so that was a plus. After a while relaxing out our muscles we headed back down 1/2 a mile to our campsite.
We ate, rested, and slept. I don’t know when you’re reading this but only a few more days.
