Aztec ruins National Monument 4th of July and Cortez

Yesterday’s Post:

This morning we woke up and had the hotel breakfast. Then we drove to Aztec Ruins national monument.

The kiva was huge. We got to go inside of it. Even though it was rebuilt they plastered the wall and most don’t do that. It was amazing to see all of the original things like the ceiling and the yucca fiber mat on a window.

After we drove to Mancos. There we found a cute brewery and town. We got food and a little snack. For snack we had homemade pretzels, enchiladas pie, and quesidas. For dessert we shared a piece of blueberry and huckleberry pie. After we walked the historic district for a bit. We then drove a little to Cortez.

In the afternoon we played with girls in the pool from Wisconsin. Then we any to a little Mexican spot for dinner. Not the dinner i would’ve prefered for 4th of July but butter than cheetos and beef jerky. We then continued strolling around and found out that moose and more (the best in cream in Cortez) had closed early for the 4th of July. Instead we went to Wendy’s to get frostees. I owed my dad one anyway so it worked out.

We then went to the fireworks. Before the show there was a massive fire explosion. It was a huge ball of fire then. We later found out it was supposed to happen. The fireworks were incredible Everytime they looked liked they would fall on us.

Although today was amazing uncle Todd stopping traffic made my day. Tomorrow we are going to messa verde. It will be super fun.
