In a Cave

Before I start on today Ellie and I would love to see and reply your comments and we can only do so if you comment on The Blog rather than on Facebook. My mom and dad won’t let me have Facebook yet.

This morning when we woke up we got ready for a cave. We drove to Carlsbad Caverns National Park. We went to the visitors center and received our tickets for the Slaughter canyon, cave.

When we met up as a group we got our helmets and gloves. We had 15 minutes to get packed up snacks and water for the hike up but they weren’t allowed in the cave. The hike up was 500 feet up and 0.5 miles long. When we got in the cave we saw stalagmites, stalagtites, pillisrs, and shields. The most amazing thing that I saw was called Christmas Tree. I like caves but they aren’t amazing or inspiring just caves so there isn’t a whole lot to write about. There were a few very annoying people.

After the cave tour we hiked back down to the car and stopped for tacos. After tacos we drove 3.5 hours to our hotel in Alamogordo. We felt very fancy and carried in Papa John’s and ate in the hotel while watching Impracticle Jokers and writing posts. Tomorrow we are going to go sledding and see the world’s largest pistachio.
