Taste of the Road

Just two days into 2018 and we’ve already begun filling out our list of states we’ve seen this year. Wisconsin and Minnesota are checked off the list. Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, Colorado, Nebraska, Iowa, and who knows what others are still to come. This little jaunt to the North has given me a taste of the road and made me even more anxious for the summer.

Plans are continuing along. I’ve been able to take care of several of the six month out reservations that I mentioned in my previous post with little deviation from the plan. In fact, the only notable substitution was making a htel reservation in Tropic since Molly was not OK with forgoing a stay there for a night of camping at Bryce NP.

Our New Year’s trip North began with a couple nights in Eau Claire with family and was full of conversation, games, and great food and drink. From there we kicked off what is now an unofficial Kimpton Journey at the Grand in Minneapolis where we were able to catch up with Josh. We’re currently on our way to Lakefront Brewery in Milwaukee to meet up with some of Molly’s cousins and then to the Journeyman for Unoffical Journey stop #2.

Sadly, we’ll be home tomorrow. At least we’ll have a few more days of witer break before we head back to work next week. My fingers are crossed that the bitter cold won’t create any unhappy surprises for us when we walk in. The frozen dishwasher will be quite enough to take care of.
