More houses

Today we did the same thing as yesterday, looked at cliff dwellings.

We started the day at 6:00. We went down to the lobby too have a quick breakfast of bagel, muffin, and an apple. We then hit the road and drove to Mesa Verde.

Our first tour at Mesa Verde was Mug House. There was only 10 other people on the hike. They offer the hike every 5 years, 10 people per tour, and only 3 tours a week. We got to climb a step ladder into it.  We saw everything. There was many Kivas that we got to see. There was some scrambling. We saw some rock art. It is named  Mug House because when the archaeologists searched that area there was three mugs on a stick.

We then finally finished the hike at  Mug House. We had Trail Mix and then went on a little hike. We saw another house. It was called Step House. We got to do that hike on our own. We saw three pit houses, one was covered. Also, a girl was digging with her hiking stick ant found an eight hundred year old piece of corn,. we got to touch it. we got to see were they lived. We then had PB and J for lunch.

Then it was timefor our next hike. The next one was called Long House. There was a natural Spring behind the Cliff Dwellings. That provided water for the Ancestral Puebloeans. We also saw a dam that caught all the water. That was all so cool.

It has been a good time at Mesa Verde. I will miss it.
