Today started very relaxing we slept in and had no rush to get out of the hotel room because we backpacked today and we we had two miles with 1000 feet of elevation. We wanted to start at about 5 so we had a day to kill. The restaurant that everyone talks about on Abiquie in Body’s it is in a gas station and supposed to be very good but, unfortunately they were closed when we went in. It kind of worked out for the better because it resulted in is getting two lunches instead of one. We got in the car and drove to Taos. We were looking for lunch and could not dicide if we wanted new Mexican of the brewery. My mom joked and said we could get both. We did not take it as a joke. We got Mexican first and I had a burrito. Once we finished up there we went to the car grabbed bannanagrams and went to the brewery for lunch two. We got two pizzas there were wood fired and so good. I was very nervous on the drive from lunch two the trail head because I was raining and we were going up 1000 feet. We got our bags put together changing put the shorts we had grabbed for longer pants. We the hoisted our bags on and got on the trail. We went up almost the whole hike and my legs are ready for rest and nervous for the 2000 Feet we are going up tomorrow and 3000 we are going down. We made it to the lake where we were staying and took a few minutes to rest before we set up tents. We then had a dinner of beef jerky and it was piticly bad today so we had meat sticks as well. We got ready for bed then I got into my tent. My dad’s is tenting with me and we have been playing a round of I’m thinking of a Henry then writing posts for ten minutes. I think our tent is more fun then my mom and sisters. Also if my mom tries to claim that New Mexico is the last place she would think of when she looked around it is not true Because she tried to claim that to us and I asked her about all fifty states.
