Back to Road Trip Haircuts

Most people with young kids, and most even most teachers I know, head to the hair salon in late August to get their big back to school haircuts. We don’t do that. Instead, we get annual back to road trip haircuts (with a smattering of others thrown in between trips.) Us Knott girls headed to Infinity Salon to chop (a very slight trim in Zoe’s case) and try to get our hair as user friendly for the upcoming trip. Our new styles should be a bit easier to deal with in campgrounds, and to be frank, three appointments on two different nights got me out of a lot of other RTXVII work.

I thought my 6 inches was impressive, but Ellie had 12 inches cut off! She’s able to donate 10 inches to Children With Hair Loss. Pretty cool of her! And although she has been working for two and a half years to have hair as long as Rapunzel’s, she seems very happy with her decision to cut it. She even proclaimed that the new style is “completely me!”

Getting our hair cut was probably not as urgent as buying underwear, figuring out how to filter water, or adjusting my attitude, but we can cross something off the list.
