There is hardly anything to report, but it felt weird not formally wapping up this little trip. The drive from Louisville to home was only about four and a half hours and completely unremarkable. We listened to a week worth of The Daily, played a ton of Mario Kart, read a bit, and let the miles fly pass us. We were home before 3 and we unpacked with the laundry started within 20 minutes. We’ve become pros at this getting home thing. I even had time to tend to our garden flowers and read on the patio.
I’m so glad we took this trip. It certainly wasn’t huge, too exotic, or high on the adventure scale, but it was a chance for us to regroup and move on this summer. Plus we had gobs of great food, saw historical landmarks, met awesome folks, and made more family memories.
